Dr. Raji Akileh
Physician | Entrepreneur | Board of Advisors for Global Health Impact Network (GHIN) | Founder & CEO @ MedEd Cloud
Growing up, I can recall having an innate desire to become a physician and help those battling cancer. Having several family members pass away from head and neck cancers, chemotherapy and hospice were always floating around in the background.
My goal was to get into pediatric oncology and help little children fight off cancer experience all the beauty life had to offer and one day experience the joys of holding their own child. Upon getting into medical school, I realized that there were a lot of things that needed to be addressed. I continued with my education, but in the background, I was tinkering away on what would change the trajectory of my career in medicine.
March of 2020, I was in Philadelphia taking a standardized patient exam when COVID-19 was at its peak. A long series of events happened at the outbreak of the pandemic which led me to a realization, I was building out what would become the future of medical education.
I made the decision at the end of my medical education to stop pursuing further training as I had found my calling. After graduation, I packed up my bags and headed back home. I went on to serve on the board of advisors to a global network of doctors driving innovation in the medical field (Global Health Impact Network). I have met the most amazing people along the way and explored the pitfalls that are present across the spectrum of the healthcare industry.
As of recently, my efforts to bring forth this vision and dream have been kicked into high gear. I am excited to be a part of a greater cause, improve the medical industry and create a more sustainable future for our healthcare system.
